In my last post I asked you to “stay tuned” so now I will continue sharing with you the fabulousness of my homeland Grenada.
On this excursion I visited a tiny island directly of Grenada named Hog Island, and boy was it beautiful!
You see, during my childhood days several families from our village used to take trips to “The Island”.
There was cooking, games, fishing, swimming, exploring and just plain old fun!!
So going back was sort of euphoric and nostalgic for me, and it did not disappoint! It is still a treasure to behold! Nature’s beauty at its best, and bright tropical colors everywhere!
I took pics of the absolutely breathtaking views and scenes.
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say rejoice!
I absolutely have to share this experience with you all!
So, I went back to the Caribbean island where I was born for my summer vacation, and Grenada is completely and utterly beautiful!!
I must say I indulged!
From the mouth watering foods I grew up on, hanging out with friends I knew all my life, and visiting the breath taking natural sites I once took for granted, each time trying to hold on to each moment as they all too quickly transition into memories.
I must say, I was inspired all over again, and this trip solidified why the love of color is innately ingrained in my dna!
There is color EVERYWHERE! Even the houses are painted in almost every shade on the color spectrum, from green to yellow to purple to even hot pink!
As I continue to explore and reignite the love I have for my homeland, I will pause this post and assure you that there will be more to come.
Below is a snapshot of natural island beauty at its best!
Stay tuned……to be continued!
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth
Hello my friends!!
So summer is absolutely fantastic so far! And, as you all know by now I live in color.
So on this bright summer day I decided to put together an outfit that had many layers.
First I mixed colors; shocking yellow skirt and black and white gingham shirt!
Second, I mixed patterns; black and white checked shirt and zebra patterned belt!
Third, I rocked a bright yellow turban! This is a daring fashion accessory that can hype any outfit to the next level.
To round it all off, I casually showcased my light blue nylon backpack that encourages us to “THRIVE” and not just survive!
I know that this might be a bit overwhelming for some, but take a fashion risk and try something new, add color, mix patterns and always, always thrive!
A little color can go a long way!

So finally today felt like Spring!
I was beside myself because I could actually feel the sun on my skin. My mood was happy and I wanted my outfit to reflect that.
So I reached wayyyy into the back of my closet and pulled out this oldie but goodie polka dot piece, and to my surprise, it fit!!
(Sidebar: The dress is actually over 10 years old! I wore it to my baby shower for my oldest son who is turning 11 this summer)
And of course, I coupled it with my favorite color long sleeve sweater, and hot pink lace-up flats.
I really, really enjoyed this outfit, because it is warm enough to comfortably wear dresses.
Check out the pics, let me know what you think!
I’m sure many of you will agree with me that as the weather gets warmer our mood gets happier!
So, on this sixty something degrees Spring day, I was feeling warm and fuzzy inside.
I picked out my soft pink chiffon blouse and paired it with my wide leg light denim trousers. Hot pink flats rounded out the ensemble.
My head wrap I coordinated with my outfit, (sidebar: I’m stuck on my hair dilemma – to perm or continue on my natural hair journey) dusted off and rocked my pink sunglasses, an absolute fav of mine!
So to all my ladies getting ready to rock this Spring and Summer, remember to add color to your outfit, could be a little or a lot!
Hey all of my Spring happy friends!
I know winter was probably rough on your skin as it was on mine, I mean it just sucks out all of the moisture and leaves us looking a hot desert dry mess!!
But, I think I found the solution!
My friend Kena, a genius in all things natural and vegan offered me a sample of her natural skin moisturizer, and I immediately fell in love!
After my shower I applied it to my damp skin and was transformed. My dry skin became luxuriously soft and babylike!
The great thing is it comes in a variety of flavors;
shea, breezy coconut, rose petals, lavender and shea coconut blend.

So it feels like Spring 2018 has finally sprung, and we absolutely need to look like it!
With that said, the scarf is an under-rated accessory that us ladies should put a bit if energy into.
For myself it serves several purposes, and I have pics below showing you two of the ways I used the same scarf.
It all started one day when in a frantic, desperate effort to cover a major bad hair day, I grabbed my animal print scarf and wrapped my hair. I really don’t know where that inspiration came from because I had only used it as a neck scarf.
I was pleasantly surprised by how chic it looked and from then on my scarves have been doing double duty, head wrap and neck scarf.
Check out the pics below, let me know if you like it!

I am so over winter!
My patience is shot and I am jonesing for the season of warm sunshine, well actually any temperature over 60 degrees will do!
So in an effort to pacify my impatience, I pulled out my wedding pics from my niece fabulous wedding last summer and I’m sharing them with you all. (bonus pic of my family)
By now it should be crystal clear that color plays a major role in my wardrobe, that’s why I opted for this purple jumpsuit.
ps. I absolutely enjoyed rocking this jumpsuit, it worked perfectly for this day wedding!

I am often intrigued by the different cultures that makes up our world, and the various style of clothing that are considered fashionable.
In some countries or regions fashion is enhanced by jewelry, others by face painting and in other regions by headwraps and scarves.
The fact is, we are all different, but in every culture there is the use of color that makes both traditional and trendy outfits come alive!
Lets face it, colorful expression is one of the common threads that connects us all to each other.
Lets take a trip around the world in color!

Our world in color
Girl! I am soooo tired of the cold weather, and I am seriously jonesing for some warmth and color!
After spending months wearing winter darks, I decided to go completely left and colorize my out fit.
I started with bright cobalt blue tights and constructed two very cool outfits around it. I know it was a stretch but I wanted to push myself and see where the color took me.
The day was warmish so I wore knee length jeans and sneakers. I also dabbled with another outfit centered around my fabulous blue tights and grey jersey skirt.
I know all my ladies will not be so brave, but if you dare to be, join me in the pursuit of life in color!
ps. my tights came from Old Navy
