Pale pink, chiffon and warm sunshine, I’m Spring happy actually!

I’m sure many of you will agree with me that as the weather gets warmer our mood gets happier!

So, on this sixty something degrees Spring day, I was feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

I picked out my soft pink chiffon blouse and paired it with my wide leg light denim trousers. Hot pink flats rounded out the ensemble.

My head wrap I coordinated with my outfit, (sidebar: I’m stuck on my hair dilemma – to perm or continue on my natural hair journey) dusted off and rocked my pink sunglasses, an absolute fav of mine!

So to all my ladies getting ready to rock this Spring and Summer, remember to add color to your outfit, could be a little or a lot!

My most passionate Easter experience to remember!!

via Daily Prompt: Explore

I must share with you my incredible Easter weekend!

I was part of one of the most thrilling experiences of 2018 so far; an interactive indoor / outdoor play re-enacting the last days of Jesus walk on earth, put on by my church.

The authenticity of the experience made it at times extremely sad and overwhelming with  intense inner feelings of gratitude and humility.

Yours truly was an angel who danced in adoration to Jesus at his resurrection. I also danced in the Jerusalem marketplace.

At first I was hesitant to be a part of the dance group but I felt it would be something interesting to explore, a way to push  out of my comfort zone.

It was one of my best decisions this year thus far!

So, enjoy the collage, let me know what you think.

Double-duty with your Spring scarf!

via Daily Prompt: Frantic

So it feels like Spring 2018 has finally sprung, and we absolutely need to look like it!

With that said, the scarf is an under-rated accessory that us ladies should put a bit if energy into.

For myself it serves several purposes, and I have pics below showing you two of the ways I used the same scarf.

It all started one day when in a frantic, desperate effort to cover a major bad hair day, I grabbed my animal print scarf and wrapped my hair. I really don’t know where that inspiration came from because  I had only used it as a neck scarf.

I was pleasantly surprised by how chic it looked and from then on my scarves have been doing double duty, head wrap and neck scarf.

Check out the pics below, let me know if you like it!

The Spring scarf

I’d rather be………

As cliche as it may sound, I honestly would rather be on a blinding white sand beach in the Caribbean, Grand Anse beach Grenada to be exact.

You see I am an island girl, Grenadian born, so nostalgia is real right now.

My toes in the warm sand, a chilled virgin pina colada while laying aimlessly under a shady coconut tree, alternating ever so often with the perfectly calm, clean, turquoise water.

So yes, I’d rather be home right now if I had it my way.

So NOT your Typical winter color

via Daily Prompt: Typical

Blacks, browns, and dark grays are some of the typical dark colors worn during the winter months and usually as the weather lightens, so does the colors of our wardrobe.

I am bored sick of these blah colors, so guess what, I stepped out of the norm, and rocked a red-orange pants on a chilly winter afternoon in March. This bright rorange (red + orange) color as my 7 year old son coined it, was so not your typical winter color!

It commanded attention wherever I went, because in reality I was brave enough to step into my own lane.

The best thing is that it is corduroy so my legs were warm!

Fashionable and functional.

Working on the winter blues

Girl! I am soooo tired of the cold weather, and I am seriously jonesing for some warmth and color!

After spending months wearing winter darks, I decided to go completely left and colorize my out fit.

I started with bright cobalt blue tights and constructed two very cool outfits around it. I know it was a stretch but I wanted to push myself and see where the color took me.

The day was warmish so I wore knee length jeans and sneakers. I also dabbled with another outfit centered around my fabulous blue tights and grey jersey skirt.

I know all my ladies will not be so brave, but if you dare to be, join me in the pursuit of life in color!

ps. my tights came from Old Navy

Simple fashion styling through the winter

Winter is here, and lately she has been very indecisive; two days freezing, three days warm, and my wardrobe and I are left confused!

So, on a not so cold day in February I rocked this outfit; light leather jacket paired with my olive tall boots to add a little color to the all black.

Ladies, just flow with the weather and keep it moving!

What do you think?IMG_2989IMG_2973IMG_2983IMG_2971IMG_2985IMG_2986IMG_2990

Summer, Sweet Summer…..

Hey all!!! Summer is Here
!!!!!

I absolutely and completely LOVE Summer!

Pretty sundresses, bright colors everywhere, sunshine daily, flip flops and ice cream are some of the things that make this season my fav!

So on this bright summer Wednesday I mustered up enough courage to rock my TuTu. Not just any TuTu, a bright cobalt blue one!IMG_5852

The biggest decision was what shirt to wear with it, so I eventually narrowed my options down to a tee shirt and a neon cotton shirt, and took pics of both looks for you to check out. To jazz it up a tad, I knotted the front of both shirts, yes maam.

Honestly, I love both looks!

And can we talk about the colors… I know coupling bright blue with neon pink may seem a bit risky, but its a fashion risk I am willing to take. As you may have figured out by now, I live my life in color, with zero apologies!

So, my brave fashionistas, let’s rock our colors any which way we please this summer!

PS:  You can turn this look all the way up with heels, or turn it all the way down with sneakers. Cute flats settles it right in the middle.

The tights have it!…..in Pink

Untitled designWinter is still here and I tried to lighten the winter blues by injecting bright pink colored tights into my wardrobe, and I loved it!!

This particular day it was almost sixty degrees in February, so I broke out the denim shorts and coupled it with an oversized sweater and pink tights!

Another outfit, in a monochromatic moment I opted for grey jersey skirt and added grey sweater and again rocked my pink tights! (sidebar; you can swap out the flat boots for heeled boots and formalize the look)

Ladies we can still be cute even when its cold outside!

Of course this look may not be for the faint of heart, but for those of us who think outside the wardrobe, it is smashing!

ps. I matched my lipstick to my tights…..

My trench treat…..

So on a Fall like winter day I rocked my staple tan trench. The beauty of this coat is that it is versatile with a retro feel. This day I wore it with black skinny jeans and a black and white striped turtleneck sweater.

As I mentioned before, I love trench coats! So with the see-saw winter weather we are now experiencing, I get to wear my light trench coat in the middle of the season (a treat for me).

So on a Fall  like winter day I rocked my staple tan trench. The beauty of this coat is that it is versatile with a retro feel. This day I wore it with black skinny jeans and a black and white striped turtleneck sweater.

Tall boots was my footwear of choice, and to color up the ensemble I picked up my grass green tote.

On a side note, I have to tell about my headband! I saw this headband while perusing the Express website. I thought the jeweled hardware was gorgeous, but was not sure if the look would fit my style.

I ordered it anyway (on sale), and on this day I gravitated to it when my hair would not co-operate. Yes ladies, I was having an epic bad hair day! This headband was magic!!! It looked classy and fresh, while covering the hot mess underneath!

Yes ma’am, I recommend, snag one for the emergency days, it would work for short hair, long hair, up dos and ponytails too!  enjoy! xoxo
